The Rave-Ons
Made up from cast members of the hit musical, BUDDY – THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, The Rave-Ons are a high energy rockabilly band formed to reviltalize the music of Buddy Holly and the Crickets.
Buddy was a true music pioneer and is considered by many to be the Father of Rock and Roll. Being highly influenced by Elvis Presley after seeing him perform in 1955, he began to incorporate a rockabilly sound with a strong downstroke rhythm guitar and unique hiccup-like vocals. The Crickets were also one of the first bands of their kind to begin writing their own hit songs. Buddy's music has inspired The Beatles, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, & countless others.
The Rave-Ons are led by Todd Meredith, who has been performing as Buddy Holly for the past four years in tribute concerts and numerous productions of the musical. He's joined by Bill Morey on the upright bass, Joe Cosmo Cogen on drums, and Jeremy Renner on guitar. They have played together all over the country, delighting audiences in New York City, Reno, Memphis, Jacksonville, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, and Illinois. Unlike other tribute bands of the same nature, all members of the Rave-Ons are in their twenties and give their shows a youthful energy and exuberance that cannot be matched.
