As the Manager of the Brandin' Iron, and now InCahoots San Diego , it has been my pleasure to have had Chris Lozano & The Dixie Playboys play on my stage! They are outstanding musicians and know how to get the crowd on their feet. They perform the best renditions of Chris LeDoux I've heard from ANY band! I would love to have them play here in San Diego!!” -Mike Stack
“As Production Assistant/Audio Engineer at the original Crazy Horse in Santa Ana as well as the Irvine Spectrum location, I had the privilege of working with some of the top local talent. Each week brought different bands onto my stage, and although I loved working with them all, there were a few favorites of course! When you have a group of musicians that not only have outstanding talent but are a pleasure to work with, have a large solid following and interact with the crowd the way these guys do, everyone has a great time. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Chris Lozano & The Dixie Playboys again anytime - great guys, great band, you can't lose!”

Chris Lozano & The Dixie Playboys bio

Chris Lozano: Lead vocals & acoustic guitar- Chris has always had a love for country music. In the Marine Corps he continued his pursuit of music by performing whenever he could. In 2002, Chris signed a two year contract with AMI Records in Nashville, TN. While with AMI he recorded two songs, “Bittersweet” and “Say Anything”. “Bittersweet” was released to radio stations all over the U.S. and reached #7 on the “Inside Country Charts”. In late 2009, Chris was stationed in Virginia. He decided to put his energy into pursuing his natural talent and desire. During this time Chris collaborated with talented Nashville songwriters Rob Crosby and Don May who helped him refine his songwriting skills and touring musician Keith Horne. who has played bass for Luke Bryan and Trisha Yearwood. Now Chris is back home in Southern California and ready to take the West Coast by storm.

Sean Brass: keyboards/accordion & vocals- Sean has been playing on the country music circuit for the last ten years. He has had the opportunity to play with some of the top bands, as well as perform with the likes of Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Ricochet, Craig Morgan, Darryl Singletary, Johnny Lee, Chad Brock and Brian Setzer to name a few. He has also opened for Carrie Underwood, Clint Black, Jamie O'Neal, Chris LeDoux, and Jason Aldean. Sean has performed on numerous TV shows including; “The Late,Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS, commercials for Hillshire Farms, KitKat chocolate bars and various radio shows. Sean's tasteful fills, melodic playing and his solid background vocals help to make the Dixie Playboys a very sought after country band.

Erik Peterson : Drums - Erik taught drum line at a local high school while he attended RCC and took the MIDI A and B courses in film scoring, which broadened his horizon with his writing and compositional skills, not just for drums, but in every instrument under the sun. Erik had joined an alternative rock band with a group of friends in 2003 and the local radio station decided to play their music. A few years of radio, touring, and textbook rock star life was soon to follow. During his time of the rock star life, Erik held down a job as a stage tech for a smooth jazz concert production that held shows all over Southern California. In 2007 he moved to LA to pursue other musical options and found myself in a retro rock band playing the Sunset Strip on a weekly basis.
After 3 years in the big city I came back to the Inland Empire to start a family and be able to play music more casually without the pressures of labels and management. Now Erik has joined the ranks of the Dixie Playboys as one of the hottest Country drummers around.

Arnie Newman: guitar, dobro, pedal steel and vocals- Hailing from Detroit, Arnie started playing guitar at the age of 12. His father was a professional country musician and helped shape his influences like Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins and Jerry Douglas. Arnie is a fingerstyle guitarist and his ability to “chicken-pick” gives the Dixie Playboys a unique country sound. Arnie was a touring member of Shenandoah, the Academy of Country Music's “Vocal group of the Year”. He also toured with Reba McEntire and Linda Davis. Arnie has performed with Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, Neal McCoy, Colin Raye and country legend Merle Haggard. He has also been a session guitarist, songwriter and teacher.

Rick Skillman: guitar and vocals- A true hybrid, Rick was raised in Southern California with family roots deep in the heart of Texas and Oklahoma. and his style of guitar playing has clearly been influenced by both cultures! Rick is proficient in a number of musical styles from new country to rock & roll and everything in-between. He has shared the stage with a number of top artists including, Tracy Byrd, Chris LeDoux, Neal McCoy, Hal Ketchum and Pat Green. Rick has enjoyed a high degree of success on stage and in the studio. One of his highlights was receiving radio play throughout the U.S. and Europe where he enjoyed a #3 single. His daytime career is also in the music industry where he is the North American OEM sales manager for Celestion, the world's largest guitar speaker company. He has signed many of today's top artists as endorsees for Celestion.

Rich Berglund: bass and vocals- Growing up on a ranch in Northern California, some of Rich's earliest musical influences were country music legends. Rich is a former Marine who attended the military school of music and is currently in the Army Reserve band stationed in Los Angeles, California. Rich has played with many of the top bands in this area like Rosie & The Originals, The Olympics, Al Wilson and Brenda Holloway. His “in the pocket” playing style, as well as his energy helps shape the Dixie Playboys great sound.
