The Tydes
The Tydes began as a jazz group in 2005, playing at the aqarium of the pacific, working for mike kent. we changed to surf at their request, and recorded a cd "shark attack" of original instrumental surf music. we have grown into a tropical surf-party vibe. our new lyrical original music has reggae, ska and country influences, as well as the traditional surf music. let red, rip, and ebb tyde liven up your event! i also do solo jazz- classical guitar.
MEET THE TYDES
Rip Tyde, aka Glenn Stiglic, has been playing guitar in jazz, rock and country bands for years. He has a B.A. in Music Composition and has toured with such diverse artists as Boomer McClennan, Ronnie and the Classics, and the Goldbrickers.
Ebb Tyde, aka Carlos Hatem, is the Tydes' percussionist. Known for his versatility, he has toured the world with Tito Puente, Mick Taylor, Iron Butterfly and many others. He also writes music for television and commercials.
Red Tyde, aka Dave DeForest, is a mainstay of the L.A. Blues scene. Red's upright bass can be heard on many L.A. blues artists' CDs, such as 2,000 Pounds of Blues, and the Amazing Wildcats.
