Celticity is Sylvie Harris on guitar; Megan Sweeney on flute and piccolo; and Phred
Mileski, voice, psaltery, the Bodhran drum, and accordion.

Sylvie Harris - Guitar
Born in Quebec, Canada, Sylvie Harris studied guitar at the Hartt School of Music
(Hartford) and the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston) where she received a
Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. Sylvie Harris has studied in master-class with
some of the world's leading guitarists. She performs regularly throughout New England
in a variety of chamber music settings. Sylvie is also a guitarist with the Providence
Mandolin Orchestra, one of America's leading Mandolin and Guitar Ensembles.
Sylvie is owner/Director of the Norwich Guitar Academy. Her students have received
scholarships at the New England Conservatory of Music, The Manhattan School of
Music, and the Hartt School of Music amongst others. She is a member of the Guitar
Foundation of America and the Connecticut Guitar Society.
Phred Mileski - Voice, Bodhran (Irish Drum), Psaltery, Accordion
Phred Mileski is a graduate of Connecticut College and has sung throughout the United
States as well as in Canada and Europe. As she is equally at home with both traditional
and classical musical genres, her extensive performance experience includes Celtic,
folk, classical, sacred, opera, jazz, cabaret, oratorio, and musical theater. She has
premiered several works by still-living composers and has recorded several CDs to
date with Archangel Voices, an internationally acclaimed small choir that specializes in
Orthodox liturgical music. Phred also teaches voice, both privately and at Christ Church
School of The Arts. She has served several churches as a soloist and is currently the
principal soloist at St. John's Church in Essex, CT as well as a cantor at St. Patrick's
Church in Mystic, CT.
Megan Sweeney - Flute, Piccolo
Megan Sweeney is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music where she studied classical
flute performance with John Wion. Megan is currently Director of Instrumental Music
at the Plainfield Public Schools. She has taken part in master classes around the
country and has been a participant in the "International Flute Festival" in Stratford-upon-
Avon, United Kingdom. While regularly freelancing throughout New England, Megan
has also soloed with the Reading Symphony Orchestra and the Miami String Quartet.
While currently teaching independently, Megan was previously a faculty member at
the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in Torrington, CT. Her students have gone on to
perform with the National Youth Orchestra and many other notable youth ensembles.
Megan is a member of Music Educators National Conference and the National Flute
Association.
