In the fall of 2008, five seniors at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, IL formed The Bread Machine. The original idea for the band was conceived on the soccer field, as it was there that the members gradually realized their shared passion for music and their desire to perform. The pieces had begun to fall into place just in time for the school's annual variety show, and the guys decided to give it a shot. With haste The Bread Machine was formed and music was learned. Their intentions for that night were that of a one-off performance, to have fun with no serious aspirations for the future. However, the variety show at LTHS is a big night for performers, and it was ultimately a defining moment for the band. The rush of being onstage, underneath the lights, and in front of an applauding crowd is an incredible feeling. Just a small taste of that feeling was enough to prompt a unanimous decision by the band to continue playing together indefinitely.

After gaining experience from a series of shows during the rest of the school year, and playing graduation parties and other local events in their first summer, the band members went off to their respective colleges, and the band was put on hold. While away at college it was noted that the world “kneaded” the Bread Machine and the members decided to push on despite being separated by hundreds of miles.

With some consideration for the future and a desire to be great entertainers, the Bread Machine resolved to get serious. During that first year of college, a lineup change occurred which brought the band to a previously unattainable level. During the summer of 2010 the Bread Machine worked hard and had a great time playing nearly 20 shows over a 10 week period. The summer of 2010 was so successful that the band is looking to play at even more high profile venues during the summer of 2011.

The Bread Machine made a strong impression everywhere they played and was asked back to play again at every single venue. The band has truly amassed an arsenal of songs that appeals to all audiences with songs ranging from the 1960's pop to contemporary rock. The Bread Machine covers over 40 different songs by artists including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Third Eye Blind, Cheap Trick, John Mayor, The Killers, Counting Crows, Kiss, and The Beatles. The band is known for extremely lively performances and ensuring the crowd always has a good time. Whether audiences want to hear stunning vocal harmonies in songs such as “The Weight” (The Band) or face melting guitar solos in epic classics such as “Freebird” (Lynyrd Skynyrd), The Bread Machine can offer a prime slice of the loaf to help any audience “get the Bread out.”
