Bluegrass Gospel Project
BGP begins its tenth year, and the more things change the more they stay the same. The most significant change is our third personnel change in a decade. Founding member Taylor Armerding has joined Jonathan Edwards' band on a full-time basis. Taylor found himself juggling two band schedules, a process that only became more difficult as time went on. Consummate professional that he is, Taylor offered to play out 2010 with the BGP, which gave us a chance to find his replacement.
And so we did, and here's where things stay the same. Former band member Jim DiSabito will be strapping on his dad's vintage Gibson mandolin to pick and sing with us again. Jim was a founding member of the BGP in 2001, singing and playing the upright bass. He left the band in 2007 because of work and a big family to feed. Now with his two eldest children away at college Jim finds himself with more time on his hands. We are delighted to have Jim back with us in 2011! He has already mastered the mandolin and he tells us that it is refreshingly easy to tote around. In addition to his instrumental duties Jim will sing lead and harmony vocals with our other veteran songsters Colby Crehan and Paul Miller. Welcome back, Jim!
So here we go, folks. We're sure that you will like the latest iteration of the Bluegrass Gospel Project; the new songs we're adding, the soulful sound of Jim singing with us again, and all the great places where we hope to see you in the coming months! Stay tuned!
