Brian Butler Boston Bagpipe
A native of Boston, Brian has been performing for audiences in the Boston area for over 20 years. Brian joined the Colonial Pipers in 1981 and began studying under Pipe Major Donna Lucas and Pipe Sergeant Sean McHardy. Taking quickly to the instrument, Brian was soon participating in parades, performances and competitions in the Boston area. He has performed for the president in the St. Patrick's day celebration in Washington DC., made several appearances at the international pipe and drum competition in Toronto, Ontario, and competed at the Scottish festival in Acadia, Maine, performing on snare drum as well as bagpipes.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Brian received his baccalaureate of Music in 1998, majoring in Drum-set performance. His performances as a professional drummer include appearances with The Touch, The Clique, The Swinging Johnsons, Back to Back, The Kubota Powerjazz Unit, and The Brian Walkley band.
Brian's bagpipe performances lend fun and excitement to area weddings, functions, and parties. He also offers private instruction on bagpipes, Scottish snare drum, and drum-set. His pipe music is also an appropriate and graceful touch for memorial, funeral and/or wake services.
