Lem Pratt And The Hard Road Band
COWBOY and MUCH MORE
At the age of seven Lem got his first guitar, and he hasn't put it down since. His style has been described as a cross between the charm of Roy Rogers and the grit of John Wayne.
Besides being a talented guitarist, Lem often pulls out the banjo, mandolin or fiddle. He is an accomplished songwriter and you will hear many of his original songs at the cowboy or country concerts. He has also written and recorded several Bluegrass songs.
Lem released his 3rd CD , "Run my Race". He was invited by the Christian Country Music Association to showcase new songs, “Run My Race”, “Momma Loved” and “Just Take It One Day at a Time”, from the CD at the 2004 Christian Country Music Awards held in Nashville, TN. "Just Take it. " was played on radio stations across the country, and went to #24 and #4 on the music charts against songs from Charlie Daniels, Randy Travis and Tim McGraw!
His first professional job at 19 was playing for the "Will Chaney Band" which brought his first recording job as lead guitar for "Blue Lonely and You". In the 1985 Lem helped form a Western Swing band the "Fender Benders" and guest performed with "Bob Wills" former band member Cotton Roberts.
in 1989 He began a solo career while rangering for the National Park Service. If Lem wasn't rangering, he was either singing or punching cattle. Lem worked the Binkerhoff Ranch out of Tropic, Utah. He helped out Rancher John Sims in Cedar City, Utah, and the Cedar City Long- horn Cattle Company on their annual drives until his move to Arizona. When he began recording his music, he appeared at the Sun Bowl Stadium and later he was a guest performer at the 10th Western Music Association (WMA) International festival where four of his original numbers, “Cowboy's Have to Ride Free”, “Keep My Faith Strong”, “Old Cowpuncher” and “Mail Order Bride” received rave reviews from fans, seasoned performers, and WMA staff.
In 1990 Lem co-founded the Hard Road Band which provides public concerts in auditoriums, resorts, fairs, rodeos, festivals, RV clubs, churches, weddings and other private events.
