The Jazz Collective
The Jazz Collective is a highly versatile group that plays special events and corporate functions with one goal in mind: Client Satisfaction! The group generally performs as a trio but is able to easily modify its format for any venue, drawing from a "collective" of musicians -- from duo, trio, dance/vocal band, to a variety act with full horn section -- to suit your entertainment needs. This highly-skilled and sought-after group of musicians has been providing a unique musical experience in the Northwest since 1993.
The core members of The Jazz Collective are: W. Michael Jaap, Kurt Kolstad, and Randall Wallace. These musicians have each performed with countless national artists throughout the United States and internationally as well.

Harvey Siders of the Tacoma News Tribune writes of Kurt's playing, "Kurt Kolstad is fiercely swinging on drums, blurring the lines separating jazz, blues, and R&B." Kurt is also featured on many CDs of Grammy-nominated David Lanz and toured with Dave in 2005. Kurt is also a prolific songwriter, and is an active member of ASCAP.
Randall Wallace - Highly acclaimed guitarist, providing a stylistic approach to all genres of music. Randall's professional career has spanned three decades, working with regional and national artists in virtually every musical style. Randall has performed with such greats as Albert Collins, Ramsey Lewis, Jose Feliciano, Dionne Warwick, Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, Buddy Miles and more.
Randall's signature guitar style is classic and effortless, giving each genre of music the precise musical "touch".
