Shelley & The Curves feature three power-house female singers and dancers led by the party girl herself, Shelley Tomberg.
Shelley Tomberg: Diva Delight and Rock Queen
Shelley's rare ability to belt out a tune with vocal fireworks inspires jump-up-and-dance-a-motion on tunes like Blondie's "One Way or Another" or Aretha's "Respect." But turn her loose on a ballad like "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys and you'll get goose bumps from her emotion-filled delivery. Ms. T's resume includes performing with number-one recording artists such as Alan White of Yes, Roger Fisher of Heart, and Goldie McJohn of Steppenwolf, guitarist Michael Powers and Sax player Darrin Motamedy. She has also performed in front of 50,000 people doing her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner for the Mariners during opening week at Safeco Stadium. Shelley was with the 10-piece regional dance band, "Top Brass" before forming The Curves.
Sally Annabella: Musical Soul
Sally has an ingrained lifelong passion for music, with both parents and their parents being musical. She's been singing since childhood, can play just about any instrument she picks up, and can theoretically analyze a song for you. She has shared stages with members of Yes, Heart, The Ventures, Steppenwolf, Alabama, Blue Oyster Cult, Oingo Boingo, Tommy Tutone, The Wailers, The Kingsmen, and even Mike Huckabee! Sally's love of music and people is evident in the energy and fun she puts into her performance.
Karen Ford: Vocal Threader and Dancer Extraordinaire
Karen brings a passion for both music and dance to the Curves. Her training began at an early age with piano and ballet lessons and blossomed from there. You may have seen her dancing and singing her way through numerous musical theater productions such as Civic Light Opera's “42nd Street” or “Crazy For You.” She was a founding member of Eastside Musical Theater, serving as their resident choreographer for two years. Karen's smooth low harmonies and infectious enthusiasm keep the party hoppin' all night long!
Shelley, Sally and Karen's rare blend of talent and true friendship sparkle on stage bringing you not only a great night of dancing fun, but a great show as well.
Craig Webb: Guitarist Extraordinaire
With a resume that includes graduating from the UW and Cornish with degrees in music as well as playing with top international recording artists such as Gloria Estefan, Fat James, Canned Heat, Cat Morrison, the Moody Blues and Tom Jones, Craig has the star talent that few bands around Seattle can claim. Craig's signature lead guitar licks can be heard on Ambrosia and Pablo Cruise's top pop albums. What's more, Craig is arguably the best dressed lead guitar player north of LA!
Mark Mosholder: Groovemeister
Mark studied music and the bass at Cornish and has mentored with some of the best including Jerry Grey , Joe Pass, Carol Kaye, and Mr Peacock. He devotes his playing to the groove first. Mark started touring at 20 and has recorded on numerous records and CD's. He has played just about every venue from clubs, television, as well as large and small concert stages with the likes of Del Shannon, Avalon, Prince, The Doobie's, Random Manor, and more. He is known for his ability to instantly adapt to any musical situation and is noted for his presence as both a side man or out front singing lead.
Paul Kollman: Groove Master
Paul gives Shelley and the Curves that professional polish evident of all top level bands. He is the quarterback, defining the groove and keeping it there throughout the song. Paul began playing drums at the age of 11 and has studied with some of the best in the Northwest. He has been performing live and in studio recording sessions for over forty years and has been the defining member in many of our legendary bands.
Joel Johnson: "Joltin" Joel
"Joltin" Joel Johnson plays multi-keyboards, while backing up the Curves. He has performed with great northwest talents including Merrilee Rush and Ann Wilson and has toured in forty of our fifty states. From Aretha to Alicia, Joel adds tasty licks that are always fresh and edgy. Perfect for the Curves!
Bob Tomberg: The Godfather
Topping off the rhythm section is rhythm guitar player Bobby T. Having performed with some of Seattle's top recording artists, such as Gretchen Christopher from the Fleetwoods and Alan White from Yes, Bob's tasty fills add texture and power to The Curves live performances. After earning his degree in dentistry from the U of W, Bob is not only the band manager, but he also has the thankless job of keeping the lead singer happy.
