Hot Pink Feathers
CARNAVAL MEETS CABARET, RIO MEETS VEGAS! Hot Pink Feathers was formed in 2000 by Artistic Director, Kelly "Kellita" Garton. The Feathers perform a dance revue specializing in samba and burlesque. Whether it's a classic Brazilian Showgirl act in full sequin and feather regalia, a ballet marionette can-can, a fiery gypsy dance, or a classic burlesque number with a modern twist, Hot Pink Feathers entertains with the enthusiasm of Carnaval.
The Feathers have graced the stages of favorite San Francisco haunts such as Bimbo's, Broadway Studios, Ruby Skye, & the Great American Music Hall. They have taken the show on the road several times, notably to Helendale's Exotic World and Hollywood's Henry Fonda Theater for Tease-O-Rama 2003. Hot Pink Feathers is featured in Michelle Baldwin's landmark book covering the current burlesque revival: Burlesque and the New Bump and Grind.
Kellita also performs as a solo artist, delighting audiences with her exuberant and mystery-provoking acts. Choose Kellita: in her Brazilian Carnaval solo; her retro latin showgirl number; her samba lounge shimmy shake; or in one of her more classic burlesque pieces: her feathery tribute to Night Train, her alluring Gyspy act, her sizzling Jungle number, or her humorous Bunny act.
Locally, Kellita is a member of Rococo Risque Cabaret. She also joined the San Francisco satellite of the VaVaVoom Room for a summer run at the Plush Room 2004.
Kellita travels have taken her to Denver's Gothic Theater for the Burlesque Fest XXX-Mas and twice to NYC for the First and Second Annual Burlesque Festival where she performed at the Slipper Room, the Knitting Factory, the Cutting Room (in Le Scandal), the PussyCat Lounge, Avalon & Coney Island.
