Winner of the 2007 Best of Blues Award for Best Duo, Bassic Saxx, husband and wife Scotty Harris and Lissa Ramaglia, on saxophone and electric upright bass respectively, undoubtedly deserve the title.  Formed in 2002, Bassic Saxx brings their unique blues and jazz sound to venues across the Northwest.

Both Lissa and Scotty are from the east coast settling and meeting in Seattle in the mid 1990's.  Lissa hailing from New York, brought with her a talent inherited from a family deeply rooted in the jazz tradition.  Her performance career started in dance and theatre which led to an interest in electric bass onto singing and playing in blues and R&B bands.   Shortly after coming to Seattle, Lissa joined up with Duffy Bishop and was nominated by the Washington Blues Society for Best of Blues - Best Bass.  1998 and 2001 brought more nominations, winning two in 2007 for Best New Band and Best Duo.  Lissa brings elegance to her performances in vocal and musical finesse.  She can be found playing with national recording artist Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne, Seattle Seahawks #93 Craig Terrill, and 2007 Best New Band “Double Scotts on the Rocks” with Scotty Harris, Scott Lind and Chris Leighton, all which are award winning musicians.

Scotty's musical odyssey began with his study of Tenor Saxophone and performing in Maine.  Working in different bands and touring the Northeast, his repertoire includes jazz, blues, reggae, country and rock and roll.  Venturing west to the “Seattle Scene” while on tour, he made Seattle his home in 1994.  Between national tours, Scotty plays regionally with the best of the Northwest's blues and jazz musicians.  Multi-talented he plays the electric bass guitar as well as soprano, tenor and alto saxophones. The combination of these instruments and his musical approach lends a special blend of modern meets classic.  Also Best of Blues award winning musician three years in a row, he's won 2006, 2007 and 2008 Best Horn as well as 2007 Best New Band and Best Duo.  Scotty performs regularly with local Seattle legends as well as national recording artist Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne, Seattle Seahawks #93 Craig Terrill,  and is the musical director for Lee Oskar and Friends,( founder of War). They play the last Friday of the month at the Highway 99 Blues Club.
