The Marlene Jazz Trio/Quartet
Marlene leads The Marlene Jazz Trio on vocals and piano-- a veteran musician who has performed for various audiences in the U.S. and abroad including Philippines' ex-Presidents Fidel Ramos and Cory Ramos and Princess Chulabhorn of Thailand.
The Marlene Jazz Trio (also available as an instrumental group) has a varied repertoire ranging from elegant jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Porter, Bill Evans, Parker) to more upbeat rhythm and blues (r&b) and Latin tunes (Jobim, Sergio Mendes).
Members of The Marlene Jazz Trio have performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States with musicians Aretha Franklin, Germaine Jackson, Ron Levy (nine-time grammy nominee), Gloria Gaynor and George Garzone. They have trained under such luminaries as Cheryl Bentyn (Manhattan Transfer), Laszlo Gardony (Billboard's Jazz Top 10 artist), Kenwood Dennard (drummer to Miles Davis and Sting) and Jerry Bergonzi.
In addition to corporate and private events, The Marlene Jazz Trio regularly performs at the Piers Park Concert Series, Boston's premier cruise liner, The Odyssey, The Marriots' Longwharf and Wentworth by the Sea, Cliffhouse Spa and Resort in Ogunquit and many more. Marlene's quartet was also featured twice at the Downtown Crossing Association's Jazz in July concerts. Marlene's ensembles can also be seen at various clubs around New England.
The Marlene Jazz Trio performs in various instrument formats and is also available as a quartet. Most frequent instrumentation for the trio is piano/vocals/bass/drums and an addition of horn or guitar for the quartet.
Marlene also performs as a soloist and in duo formats.
