On May 16, 2002, Sue climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest with her husband Phil. This accomplishment marked the end of a ten-year journey to climb the Seven Summits, the highest mountain on each of the world's seven continents. Sue and Phil became the first couple to climb the Seven Summits together.

During those same ten years, Sue climbed the corporate ladder to the position of Regional Vice President of Sales for a global telecommunications corporation. Consistently earning annual President's Club sales awards, she balanced her time between her corporate responsibilities and climbing mountains. She uses her training as a sales leader as the foundation of her training for climbing mountains.
