Avalon Rising plays Celtic Rock, a blend of original rock with Celtic and Medieval music. Their rich acoustic/electric sound features strong male and female vocals over intricate instrumental arrangements. Avalon Rising is one of the pioneering bands to include Celtic harp in their line-up, which also includes guitars, mandola and mandocello, fiddle, flute, bass, drums, and vocals. Their repertoire includes both original and traditional songs and ranges in feel from driving, danceable primal beats to atmospherically lovely harp-based ballads. Highlights of Avalon Rising's career include the Fairfax May Day Festival 1999, and the High Sierra Music Festival and Avery Ranch Folk Festival in 1997. They'll be headlining at the Mammoth Lakes Celtic Festival in July 2000.
