The Manhattan Dance Orchestra is a full time group of professional musicians who have performed extensively throughout the United States providing exciting and memorable dance music for major conventions, fund raisers, elegant events, and private parties. At our core is a five member band is available in the Southern US. Collectively, we have performed at Inaugural Galas for three Presidents of the United States, the Governor of Tennessee, and Princess Anne of England. Additionally, we have performed with many nationally known artists such as Aaron Neville, Deniece Williams, Howard Hewitt of Shalamar, Patti Austin, Christopher Cross, Leon Russel, Regina Bell, Cissy Houston, Gary Chapman, Lucy Arnaz, Bernadette Peters, Toni Tennille, Paul Williams, Bob Hope, Tommy Dorsey, Lou Rawls, Bobby Vinton, Roger Miller, BJ Thomas, Albertina Walker, Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Steve Cropper, Smokey Robinson, The Coasters, and The Drifters. You'll be amazed how well we go from It Had To Be You to Magic Carpet Ride to Brick House, and sound great playing all three! It's what we are born to do, and we do it well! Our mission statement: "To be flexible in our service [to you], and to have fun." The Manhattan Dance Orchestra never double books a date. When you contract with MDO, you get the real band, not a second string version. (Please be advised that other bands double book, and sub-contract frequently). There is a high demand for weekend bookings. Since there is only one Manhattan Dance Orchestra, make sure you reserve the date of your event well in advance.
