Jim Knapp is a trumpet player and composer. He leads the Jim Knapp Orchestra, which plays his music exclusively. The Jim Knapp Orchestra has recorded "On Going Home" for Seabreeze (Los Angeles), "Things For Now" for A-Records (Amsterdam) and "Secular Breathing" for Origin (Seattle). He developed the Jazz Program at Cornish College of the Arts in the late '70's and continues to teach there. He is represented as a composer and/or performer on the ECM, Challenge/A-Records, Origin, Seabreeze, Flying Fish, Catalyst, and Mode record labels. Jim's education includes BA and MA degrees in Music Composition from the University of Illinois. Compositions and arrangements for vaious instrumentations are available upon request
