The New York Style Ensembles are committed to bringing you beautiful music for your wedding, party, or special event. We will consult with you to personalize the music to the needs of the event and will honor most special requests. The ensembles have played numerous events such as holiday parties, weddings, and everything from small intimate gatherings to fund raising events for the Governor. The Ensembles are available in several formats including Duo, Trio and Quartet with instrumentation designed to bring out the full beauty of the music. You can choose the ensemble which best fits your needs, all priced very reasonably. These are our most popular choices for weddings, receptions and corporate events where you want an elegant touch of strings performed with flair and class. Our Ensemble pricing is very reasonable and is designed to meet your needs and budget whether you need a single hour, 90 minutes or several hours.
Instrumentation available: String Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet, Flute and Harp*, Guitar and Strings, String Jazz, Strolling Violins, Piano and Strings, String Orchestra (*Note: additional charge applies for any ensemble with harp).
The Ensembles have traditional classical wedding music, Baroque music, opera music, chamber music, ragtime, Beatles, contemporary and pop, society tunes, and swing standards arranged for string quartet, tangos, fox trots, waltzes, plus Klezmer, continental, Russian, as well as French waltzes, Viennese, Irish and more. Special requests can be arranged with advance notice.
Vivian Penham (Cello) A graduate of the Juilliard School and Columbia University, studies with Ardyth Alton and Lorne Munroe. Freelancing in the NY area, she plays with the New England Symphonic Ensemble, Scandia Symphony, and American Symphony. In addition, she is a Goethe Institute scholarship recipient. Other artistic activities include touring with The Mantovani Orchestra, Phantom of the Opera, and the Southwest Florida Symphony. In addition she is the founder of Claremont strings and ensemble, which has performed regionally presenting unique interpretations of old masters and Music in Urban spaces under the auspices of HAI.

The members of the NY Style Strings are versed in musical styles ranging from classical to pop, rock, Broadway, jazz, and new age. Our experience includes playing with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, opera, and in the commercial recording studio. Whether on the concert stage or at your wedding or special event, The NY Style Strings are passionate about what they do.
