The Wine Country Jazz
Ensemble plays the kind of jazz people love to hear, including the classic
swing of Duke Ellington, the color of Bill Evans, the romance of A.C. Jobim,
and many others. Our trios and quartets are a mainstay of the wine country
jazz music scene. Our musicians are equally at home playing traditional
jazz, classic swing jazz for dancing, bossa nova, blues or funk. We are
frequently the featured entertainment at San Francisco bay area wine
tastings, cocktail parties, corporate events, weddings and swing dance
parties.
Whether your music needs are for dancing, dinner or cocktails, we will work
with you to put together the perfect ensemble for your occasion.
The Wine Country Jazz Ensemble typically features piano, bass, drums, and
optionally a vocalist or saxophone player. To help create a focal point for
the entertainment and make the whole event truly sparkle, we recommend a
quartet or quintet with a saxophone player and/or a vocalist.
Some ensemble options include:
Piano duo - piano and bass
Piano trio - piano, bass, drums
Quartet - saxophone, piano, bass, drums
Vocal quartet - vocals, piano, bass, drums
Quintet - vocals, saxophone, piano, bass, drums
All of our musicians are extremely accomplished and reliable, and have
shared the stage with some of the best in the industry. We have Raj Sodhi on
acoustic bass, Alex Aspinall on drums, the prodigious Steve Moon on piano,
Matt Rothstein on saxophone and vocals, along with the rich voice of Dana
Land.
Additional Services:
We provide a state-of-the-art sound system for speeches, toasts, etc. and
recorded CD music during the breaks.
Our legendary keyboard player can also provide solo classical piano music
for ceremonies, weddings, etc.
